Shelby has been teaching at Hughes Middle School since 2019. Before her time at Hughes, she taught choir at Wylie High School. Under her direction, her choirs have found success at UIL Concert and Sight-reading, All-Region, All-State, and Solo and Ensemble.
Shelby graduated from UT Arlington in 2015 with a Bachelor of Music Education. She is currently a member of Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Choral Directors Association. |

Cristin Dupew is the vocal instructor for Burleson High School and Hughes Middle School. A graduate of Syracuse University (BA with music performance honors 1996, MS in Music Education 00) and Towson University (MM vocal performance 98), Cristin has maintained a private voice studio since 2000. She performed as a soloist, as well as, a section leader for choirs in churches and civic organizations.
Cristin’s experience includes teaching k-6 general and choral music at St. Mary’s School in Cortland NY, leading choirs with the Say Yes to Education afterschool program sponsored by the Greater Syracuse YMCA arts division, and leading the junior choir at her church. Cristin lives in Burleson with her husband Clint Dupew and their blended family of six children who are all involved in musical activities in Burleson ISD. |
